Specs & Capability
The
Subaru Outback keeps you in control with standard Subaru Symmetrical
All-Wheel Drive. You'll also be able to driver over potholes, streams,
and rocky trails with confidence thanks to its 8.7-inch ground
clearance.
The Honda CR-V offers all-wheel drive, but front-wheel drive comes standard. With all-wheel drive it has a ground clearance of 8.2 inches, but with front-wheel drive it only stands 7.8 inches above the ground.
The Outback can also haul more cargo. It offers two engines that are capable of pulling your trailer, ATVs, or boat. The first option is a 2.5L 4-cylinder that can tow up to 2,700 pounds. The more powerful engine is a turbocharged 2.4L 4-cylinder that can haul up to 3,500 pounds.
While the Honda CR-V also offers two engines, neither one of them can carry as much cargo. Both powertrains only have a towing capacity of 1,500 pounds.
Safety Features
On
top of its standard all-wheel drive, the Subaru Outback protects you
with eight airbags. It also comes with lots of safety features that can
help prevent accidents. The standard EyeSight® Driver Assist Technology
system gives you more awareness with features such as:

There's also an available DriverFocus™ Distraction Mitigation System. It can detect when you're drowsy or not paying attention and send you alerts to remind you to focus on the road.
The Honda CR-V only has six airbags. While it does offer its own driver assistance system, Honda Sensing®, it isn't standard on every trim level. Plus, it doesn't offer anything that can tell when you're tired or distracted.
Infotainment System
The
Outback also comes with technology that'll make your drive more fun and
convenient. The dashboard is home to a touchscreen display that can
sync up with your smartphone via Bluetooth®. You'll be able to stream
music, safely make hands free calls, and use your apps through Apple
CarPlay® and Android Auto™. A 7.0-inch touchscreen comes standard for
the system, but an 11.6-inch screen is also available
The Honda CR-V also offers a 7.0-inch touchscreen display with Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™, but it's not available on every trim level. While the standard system on the base trim is Bluetooth® compatible, it only comes with a 5-inch LCD screen.
