When you're in the market for a new car to take on just about everything-family vacations, outdoor trips, and home improvement weekends-you want to know that it's reliable and well-equipped. The last thing that anyone wants is to be driving blind while they're out on off-road trails or cruising across sand dunes. Luckily, the Subaru Outback is fitted with all the technology you could need to stay safe and in control on any terrain.

To help drivers around Mobile, Daphne, and Fairhope, AL, make an educated decision on their next car, we at Koby Subaru put together this article discussing the various technologies in the newest Subaru Outback.

Continue reading to learn what the Outback has to offer when it comes to safety, outdoor, and entertainment tech!

This Is What Entertainment & Convenience Looks Like

Take a seat in the Subaru Outback, and you'll be greeted by a standard dual 7-inch STARLINK® Multimedia display. This is where you can connect your smartphone via Apple CarPlay® or Android Auto™, as well as access your preferred GPS app. The base trim then has a 4-speaker audio system that can be upgraded to a 6-speaker one if you opt for the Premium trim.

For audiophiles, you have the option of getting a 12-speaker Harmon Kardon® audio system with the Limited or Touring trim. All trim levels above the base are outfitted with a larger 11.6-inch STARLINK® Multimedia Navigation display, which means that you can more easily turn on your favorite music or podcast.

Of course, you and your passengers want to be able to enjoy the more temperate days out of the year. That's why there's an available moonroof option on every Outback trim. Plus, if you're worried about having too many bags in hand as a result of your weekend grocery run, there's no need thanks to Subaru's available hands-free power liftgate. Now, you can say goodbye to several trips to load up the car!

You'll Be Ready for the Off-Road

While other crossovers might have two-wheel drive and an available option for all-wheel drive, the Outback is ready for any terrain thanks to the standard Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive (AWD). It will approximate the necessary amount of torque that each wheel requires and distribute it accordingly.

You may be wondering why you need all-wheel drive at all times? These systems help in less than optimal road conditions in addition to improving handling and control on dry pavement. Even more so, if the Symmetrical AWD system detects slippage, it will redirect the torque from that wheel to the other ones with better traction.

Furthermore, we all know how necessary it is to have a direct line of sight when we're backing out from a tight space-especially if that's off the beaten path. Thanks to a high-resolution Rear-Vision Camera and available Reverse Automatic Braking, you can ensure that your Outback will go just where you need it to.

Safety First

When you choose the Subaru Outback, you can expect a state-of-the-art safety suite. Each model comes standardly with EyeSight® Driver Assist Technology, a system that uses front-mounted cameras to detect imminent collisions and potential inattentive driving.

Some of the features that EyeSight® includes are:

  • Advanced Adaptive Cruise Control with Lane Centering
  • Lane Departure & Sway Warning
  • Pre-collision Braking

You'll find other standard safety features in the Outback, too, such as a 4-wheel Anti-lock Braking System and Vehicle Dynamics Control. A Brake Override System will reduce engine output if the vehicle registers input from the brake pedal and accelerator simultaneously.

There's also an available Blind-Spot Detection with Lane Change Assist and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert. This means that there's no need to fear lane shifting in heavy traffic or maneuvering in tight parking spaces.
