Compact SUVs like the Subaru Forester and Ford Escape should offer lots of space, safety, and fun features to drivers in Mobile, Daphne, and Fairhope. So, which one has more of what you're looking for?

To help you find that out, Koby Subaru has put together this Subaru Forester vs. Ford Escape comparison. Feel free to reach out to us via email or phone call with any questions you might have after you've finished reading. You're welcome to stop by to have those questions answered in person, as well.

Subaru Forester vs Ford Escape Interior Dimensions

Both the 2020 Subaru Forester and 2020 Ford Escape have two rows of seats with space for up to five people. Your passengers will be able to stretch out inside the Forester with 111.9 cubic feet of passenger room. The interior of the Escape is a little more cramped with only 104 cubic feet of passenger space.

Behind the back seats, each SUV provides ample cargo room, plus 60/40 split-folding seats to give you more space when you've got a lot to load. Just like the seating area, the Subaru gives you the convenience of more space for your cargo.

Subaru Forester vs Ford Escape Safety

The 2020 Forester provides a safe and stable ride with standard Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive. The 2020 Escape offers all-wheel drive, but front-wheel drive is standard.

Both SUVs feature seven airbags throughout the interior, including a driver's knee airbag and side-curtain airbags that cover both rows of seats.

The Forester is also designed to prevent accidents before they occur with an EyeSight® Driver Assist Technology system. This standard package gives you more awareness of what's around you with such smart features as:

  • Pre-Collision Braking System
  • Lane Departure and Sway Warning
  • Lane Keep Assist
  • Adaptive Cruise Control

Additionally, the Subaru offers a DriverFocus™ Distraction Mitigation System. This feature will send an alert if it senses that you're becoming drowsy or distracted. You can then take a break and come back when you're feeling refreshed.

Unfortunately, you won't find this feature in any trim of the Ford model.

Subaru Forester vs Ford Escape Infotainment System

Inside the Subaru Forester, there's a sleek and easy-to-use infotainment system. The standard system gives you a 6.5-inch touchscreen in your dashboard, but an 8-inch screen is available. Both sizes let you sync your smartphone to the system with features like:

  • Bluetooth® technology
  • Apple CarPlay®
  • Android Auto™
  • Aha™ smartphone app integration

The Forester also offers great music with standard SiriusXM® All Access Radio and iHeartRadio®. Plus, the Magellan® navigation system will always provide you with the best route to your destination.

The Ford Escape offers an 8-inch touchscreen, as well. However, its standard infotainment system only has a 4.2-inch LCD monitor. Its base trim also doesn't offer Apple CarPlay™ or Android Auto™.
